Brent Marttinen
Ever since I was young, I’ve had a love for cool cars, though I was never too interested in the mechanical aspect. For me, cars were works of art, objects of beauty. It was all about how they looked. Growing up, however, I had never once considered pursuing a career that had anything to do with cars. In 2021, I acquired my dream car, a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3.
This car changed everything.
I fell in love with the drive. The way the car felt, just as much as how it looked. I found that nothing gave me greater pleasure than to spend an entire weekend deep diving into the best methods of detailing, washing, and preserving the car, then going out for a drive. The cleaner and shinier the paint, the more enjoyable the drive.
Detailing quickly became a deeply ingrained form of therapy for me. Soon, there was nothing left to clean on or inside the car due to how meticulously I maintained it. To pursue my newfound passion, I quit my job and began working at a detail shop, earning less money, but thrilled at now being able to do what I loved.
However, my high standards of quality did not align with the business model of the shop I worked at. The focus was on high volume, not high quality. Detailing turned into a chore, as I was forced to work as quickly as possible, detailing as many as 4 cars a day to earn a living.
I needed something more. The Black Hills needed something more. There was a lack of quality, passion driven, enthusiast owned detailing.
I decided to start my own business. As a car fanatic myself, I understand the importance of being able to trust my car in the hands of a detailer. I therefore invested heavily into training to learn high-level paint correction from some of the best in the industry. Consistent hands-on learning, practice, research, and an unrelenting commitment to the craft has allowed me to offer the highest quality detailing services in the Black Hills.
